Facebook Group – Coronavirus news from the Orlando Sentinel
As part of the Orlando Sentinel’s audience engagement team, I served as moderator of a Facebook Group created during the early state of emergency of the COVID-19 pandemic. In this Facebook group, local readers were informed of the latest statewide case numbers, deaths and vaccine distribution centers.

When breaking news happens on a local, national, or international scale, I was working behind-the-scenes setting up desktop alerts and mobile app push notifications for Orlando Sentinel readers and premium subscribers via OneSignal and Urban Airship multi-channel platforms.

NAHJ Central Florida
As social media coordinator of the National Association of Hispanic Journalists (NAHJ) Central Florida chapter starting in the 2020 term, I’ve been in charge of the local chapter’s social media efforts for our Facebook, Instagram and Twitter accounts.
Duties include publishing bilingual posts (in English and Spanish) on all three accounts informing our members of local and national chapter events, announcements, career and education opportunities.
90-Day Content Calendar – #TeamGina
A social media marketing project with Orlando-based nonprofit The Gina McReynolds Foundation, where I collaborated with a diverse team on developing a 90-day content calendar for the Summer 2022 season.
Calendar ideas varied from informative posts on breast cancer awareness to a weekly campaign post using the #WhyTeamGina hashtag on featured volunteers, board of directors and breast cancer survivors under the nonprofit.
BirthSmarter Instagram Designs
Social media designs for birth education hub BirthSmarter, where I was given the company’s visual branding—fonts, color palettes, customer photos—and created multiple assets using Adobe Photoshop, alongside matching social media captions and relevant hashtags for BirthSmarter to use for each post on Instagram.
